Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Last Updated: February 2026

At Grand Forks Weddings, your date is reserved exclusively for you once booked. Because we commit our time and often turn away other couples, the following cancellation and rescheduling policy applies.

Cancellations

All payments made to secure wedding officiant services are non-refundable. When you book, we reserve your date and begin preparation for your ceremony, which includes time, scheduling, and planning resources.

We understand that life happens, but cancellations result in lost booking opportunities that cannot always be filled. For this reason, payments already made remain non-refundable even if you decide not to proceed with the ceremony.

Rescheduling

We are happy to work with couples who need to change their date whenever possible, but rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends entirely on officiant availability.

If you need to reschedule:

  • You must notify us as soon as possible.
  • Your original payment will be applied to the new date if we are available.
  • If we are not available, the booking will be considered canceled and payments remain non-refundable.

Emergencies

In cases of serious emergencies, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a new date or help find an alternative officiant, but this is not guaranteed. Any accommodations are at our discretion and subject to availability.

Weather or Venue Issues

If your ceremony is delayed due to weather, venue problems, or other unexpected issues, we will do our best to adjust timing within reason but this is at the digression of your officiants.

Significant changes to location or timing may require additional coordination and may incur added fees. Any such changes will be discussed with you in advance whenever possible.

Client Responsibility

It is the couple’s responsibility to:

  • Secure a valid marriage license.
  • Provide accurate ceremony details.
  • Inform us immediately of any changes.

Failure to provide necessary documentation or information may affect our ability to perform the ceremony and does not create a basis for a refund.
